I learned html more or less for the same reason why I learned Chinese: it would help me to share my stories with more people, it’s a lot of fun, and not many around me were doing it at the time (does this make me look super-old?)
While I conceive, build and manage websites mainly on WordPress -which I absolutely love- I am familiar with different CMSs and with coding, of course.
Clean, functional -often with a sprinkle of pink fun- websites and blogs built to tell stories, that are integrated with social media and that work in a way that even print journalists can understand.
